Miami to host Zayed Charity Run 2026 with first-ever UAE delegation
Coconut Grove set to welcome runners from across continents
DUBAI – Miami is set to host the 18th edition of the Zayed Charity Run, with the event scheduled for 31 January in Coconut Grove.
The race will mark the first international stop of the initiative this year, reinforcing its growing global footprint. Organisers say preparations are well underway to welcome runners from diverse communities and age groups.
Inspired by the humanitarian legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the run continues to blend sport with social responsibility. Following the Miami event, the charity run will head to Budapest, Hungary, in May, highlighting its expanding international reach.
Zayed Charity Run
The 5-kilometre race will begin at Miami City Hall and conclude at Regatta Park. Organisers have confirmed extensive logistical planning to ensure smooth participation and strong community engagement, reflecting the event’s reputation for inclusivity and large-scale turnout.
The total prize pool for the event stands at US$20,000, with $5,000 awarded to first place, $2,500 to second place and $1,500 to third place, alongside raffle prizes. Proceeds from the Miami run will support the National Kidney Foundation of Florida, contributing to efforts aimed at enhancing healthcare services and patient outcomes.
UAE delegation
For the first time, a runners’ delegation from the UAE will take part in the Miami edition, consisting of 100 male and 50 female participants. Officials say the delegation reflects the increasing presence of Emirati athletes in international sporting events centred on humanitarian causes.
Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Run, said the Miami stop represents a significant milestone in the initiative’s international journey. He noted that the event’s continued presence in the United States reflects growing global confidence in its philanthropic mission and long-term impact.
